Registration is open for First Strides, Connecticut’s Premier FREE Learn-to-Skate program developed by the Greater New Haven Warriors. The program provides aspiring players between the ages of 4-10 the opportunity to take their "first strides" in developing an interest in ice hockey. Emphasis is placed on the very basics of skating within a safe and fun environment. It is designed for first-time skaters only please. Players who have previously participated in First Strides or another Learn-to-Skate program should register for the Warriors Learn-to-Play Hockey clinics.
Note: There is no cost to participate or use the loaner equipment (see equipment section below). All players must register with USA Hockey.
Equipment:Please indicate if you will be borrowing equipment or using your own when you register. Players will receive a helmet with full face guard, hockey gloves and hockey skates. We also recommend that players wear shin guards and elbow pads. Equipment packages are available at Hamden Sports if you wish to purchase your own skates and equipment.
2018 LEARN-TO-PLAY HOCKEY CLINIC REGISTRATION OPEN

October 13th- December 23rd
The Warriors Learn-to-Play Hockey clinic is a preparatory program designed to teach new and returning players 4-10 years old proper skating and introductory hockey skills. This program is for players who have recently completed GNH Warriors First Strides or similar program and want to advance to the next step in learning the game of hockey. It consists of 20, one-hour sessions at the Northford Ice Pavilion.
Full equipment is required. Discounted equipment packages are available from Hamden Sports on Whitney Ave in Hamden. Players will receive a Warriors jersey.
Sundays 7:30-8:30 AM
No clinic the weekend of December 1st and 2nd
$400 (there is also a $47.50 USA Hockey Registration fee for players 6 and older)
